STUNNING 298g STERLING SILVER GEORGIAN 1822 CHALICE CUP ANTIQUE CLARENCE HOTEL
A stunning rare large Georgian English solid sterling silver goblet / cup. It is hallmarked for London 1822 with the maker being CE. It has been beautiful designed being embossed with scrolls and grape vines. Interesting it has been presented to the Head Waiter John Perkins at the Clarence Hotel in 1838 for 13 years of service - I do not know which Clarence Hotel, I am aware there was one in London, and others including one in Exeter however searching John Perkins' name in records of that time should shed light on it. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs, there is tarnish inside but I've left it as found. It measures 6.25 inches (15.5cm) tall by almost 4 inches across the rim and weighs 298 grams. A very high quality piece.
