A very rare English Victorian antique solid sterling silver go to bed vesta case. It is hallmarked for London 1888 with the maker being Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings (Frank) Shepherd. It has been superbly designed having with fold-out wax candle to one side and a compartment for matches. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs. It measures approx. 2.25 inches (5.6cm) long by 1.25 inches (3.1cm) wide by 0.50 inch (1.1cm) tall and weighs 40 grams. A very high quality rare example.
