A superb English solid sterling silver place card or menu holder. It is hallmarked for London 1976 with the maker being Thomas Charles Jarvis. It has been superbly designed being cast in the form of what i think is The Match Box Seller. The milestone holds the place card, it being numbered 7. There was a set produced by TC Jarvis - all Victorian street characters. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs. It measures approx. 2 inches (5cm) tall and weighs 26 grams. An interesting well made piece.
