A beautiful solid silver box. It is unmarked but tests as high grade silver. I would date it to c1880-1900 most likely made in the Ceylon (Sri Lanka) region. It has been beautifully hand made being embossed and chased with scrolls and flowers. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs, the lid closes flush and the inside is clean. It measures approx. 4.5 inches (11.4cm) long by almost 2 inches (4.9cm) wide by over 1.5 inches (3.4cm) tall and weighs 116 grams. A superbly designed beautiful example.
