A rare Scottish antique solid sterling silver ladle. It is hallmarked for Glasgow 1831 with the maker being John Mitchell. It has been well made and interesting engraved with a crest of a garb of wheat with a snake appearing from its centre - possibly linked to the Dodd, Dodds or Dodson Families. It is in super condition being free from dings splits distortions and repairs. It measures approx. 6.75 inches (16.8cm) long by over 1.75 inches (4.7cm) wide and weighs 42 grams. A very well made clean example.
