GLASGOW EXHIBITION STERLING SILVER SCOTTISH THISTLE SPOONS 1885 CASED ANTIQUE
£185.00
Item number:
18760
A rare cased set of six Scottish solid sterling silver spoons. They are hallmarked for Glasgow 1885 with the makers mark being difficult to decipher and the retailer being Thomas Smith & Son. The outer case reads CTH GLASGOW EXHIBITION 1888. They have been nicely designed with the terminals being in the form of Scottish Thistles. They are in super condition being free from dings splits distortions and repairs. The case has numerous scuffs on the outside but is beautiful inside. The spoons measure almost 4.5 inches (11.2cm) long by almost 1 inch (2.4cm) and combined weigh 96 grams excluding the case. A very interesting and unusual set.
