A superb good sized novelty solid silver pepper pot. It is hallmarked with Dutch silver marks including the date code Y for 1933. It has been superbly designed being in the form of a chick about actual life sized or the size of a Sparrow chick or adult Blue Tit. It is in superb condition being free from dings, splits holes and repairs. It measures approx. 4 inches (9.8cm) wing tip to wing tip by 3.5 inches (8.4cms) beak to tail and weighs 65 grams. A well made rare piece.
