Rare high quality English Georgian antique solid sterling silver asparagus, vegetable, or sandwich serving tongs. They are hallmarked with the Lion passant mark, the Georgian head mark along with the makers mark of George Smith (III) & William Fearn who was active between 1786 to 1796. They have been superbly made and are highly sprung and in good working order. They are engraved with the crowned owl crest used by the Willoughby Family. They are in superb condition being free from dings splits distortions and repairs. They measure approx. 9.5 inches (24.2cm) long and they weigh an impressive 130 grams. Super quality examples.
