A beautiful English antique solid sterling silver Fern / Flower Pot. It is hallmarked for London 1891 with the maker being William Comyns. It has been superbly made and would have been used to hold a specimen fern during what was termed Fern Fever when Victoria ladies scoured the countryside for rare ferns. It is in superb condition, having no dings splits holes or repairs. It measures approx. 2.75 inches (6.6cm) tall by 3.25 inches (8.8cms) and weighs 82 grams. A superbly designed example.
