ENGLISH STERLING SILVER MASTER CUTLER SKEWER LETTER OPENER 1998 BOXED

A super quality boxed English solid sterling silver letter opener. It is hallmarked for Sheffield 1998 with the makers mark being PT which is the Master Cutler's initials of Paul Tear. Paul Tear was a prominent Sheffield industrialist who served as the 359th Master Cutler in 1997–1998, notable as the first "manufacturing cutler" in over 40 years to hold the office. It has been superbly made being a replica of a Georgian meat skewer. It is in super condition being free from dings splits distortions and repairs, no inscriptions, the box its also great. It measures approx. 8.25 inches (21cm) long by over 0.75 inch (2.4cm) wide and weighs 58 grams excluding the box. A very well designed piece.
