A rare heavy English solid sterling silver gilt limited edition goblet or chalice. It is hallmarked for London 1981 with the maker being Hector Miller. It has been made as a limited edition being number 699 of 1000 to commemorate the wedding of HRH the Prince of Wales and the Lady Diana Spencer. It has been superbly designed with three heraldic beasts rising from the base - a dragon to represent the Prince; a griffin to represent the Spencer family; and a phoenix to represent St Pauls. It is in super condition being free from dings splits and repairs, just a few fine lines. It measures approx. 6.75 inches (17.2cm) tall by 2.5 inches (6.2cm) across the rim and over 2.5 inches (6.7cm) across the base and it weighs 376 grams. A rare piece.
