A very interesting English solid sterling silver mounted cork. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1977 with the maker being Crisford & Norris Ltd. It has been superbly made being engraved 'MERE MAGIC LYMINGTON GOSPORT 19-11-1977' The year 1977 was significant in Gosport due to the Queen's Silver Jubilee, which included a major Fleet Review. It is likely that the "Mere Magic" show was part of the local celebrations or entertainment related to this event, possibly performed at a naval base like HMS Sultan or HMS Dolphin, both located in Gosport. It is in superb condition being free from splits chips cracks and repairs. It measures approx. 2.25 inches (5.4cm) tall by over 1 inch (3cm) wide and weighs 20 grams. A very interesting piece.
