A super quality cased English solid sterling silver letter opener. It is hallmarked for London 2000 with the maker being James Dixon & Sons Ltd. It has been superbly made with the terminal being cast in the form of a flaming grenade with the initials HAC for The Honourable Artillery Company, the back has been engraved CLIVE MARTIN LORD MAYOR of LONDON 2000. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits distortions and repairs. It measures approx. 7.25 inches (18.2cm) long by 1 inch (2.6cm) wide and weighs 66 grams excluding the case. A very well designed piece.
