A beautiful French solid sterling silver double ended egg cup. It is hallmarked with the Minerva 950 silver standard mark and maker being Alexandre Vaguer who registered in January 15th 1884, location 114 Rue du Temple in the Marais area of Paris. I would date it to c1890s. It has been beautifully designed being internally gilded having two different sized egg cups at either end. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs, just the odd tiny mark. It measures 1.75 inches (4.4cm) across the smaller cup and over 1.75 inches (4.8cm) across the larger one by almost 2 inches (4.8cm) tall and weighs 42 grams. A very nice clean useable piece.
