SIX SOLID SILVER NAPKIN RINGS EASTERN IRAQI c1920 112g ANTIQUE

£150.00
Item number: 6956

A nice set of six solid silver napkin rings. They are unmarked but test as high grade silver and date to c1920. They were made in Iraq most likely by the marsh Arabs. They have been beautifully made incorporated Arabic scenes. They are in super condition being free from dings splits distortions and repairs, three engraved WC and three MC (possibly acquired by a serviceman whilst stationed there in the interwar years - apparently the craftsmen would melt down cigarette cases, coins, and anything silver they could find to make and sell souvenirs to service personal and tourists). They measure on average 2.25 (5.7cm) by 1.75 inches by 1.25 inches tall and combined they weigh 112 grams. A very interesting set.
