A beautiful hand made English solid sterling silver Christening spoon. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1979 with the maker being A R Jones. It has been superbly made as a replica of a Roman Christening or Baptism spoon of the fourth century. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits distortions and repairs. The case is also superb. It measures approx. 6.25 inches (16cm) long by 1.5 inches (3.6cm) wide and weighs 35 grams excluding the case. An interestingly made piece.
