SCOTTISH STERLING SILVER TOLHURST FAMILY CRESTED LADLE 1856 ANTIQUE
£68.00
Item number:
36218
A very interesting Scottish solid sterling silver ladle. It is hallmarked for Edinburgh 1856 with the makers marks being JMCo. It has been superbly made being engraved with the crest and moto used by the Tolhurst Family, the crest being recorded as belonging specifically to Alfred Tolhurst Esquire of Gravesend Kent so how it got all the way from Scotland is a mystery. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs. It measures approx. 6 inches (15cm) long by 1.75 inches (4.5cm) wide and weighs 38 grams. A high quality very interesting piece.
