STERLING SILVER MAZER BOWL SHELL OIL MODERNIST C F COYLER 1987 SCOTTISH DORSET
£235.00
Item number:
22108
A rare possibly unique hand made solid sterling silver drinking bowl, also termed a mazer. It is hallmarked for Edinburgh 1987 with the makers marks being those of the designer C F Coyley of Dorset. It has a polished hardwood base with plannished silver rim and inset silver disc engraved with the Shell Oil Company emblem and a stately building (I do not know which, it looks rather like Mansion House or the Bank of England?). It is in super condition being free from dings splits and repairs. It is nice and clean inside with no stains chips or cracks. It measures approx. 6.5 inches (16.5cms) across by 2.25 inches tall to the rim and weighs 272 grams. A stunning rare piece.
