A very unusual American antique solid silver folding medicine spoon. It is marked STERLING, THE METCALF Co, NEW YORK. I would date it to c1890-1910. It has been interestingly designed being able to fold into itself. It is n super condition being free from dings slits and repairs, light marks to the bowl and spoon back from the spoons touching when folded. There are initials to the larger spoon back. It measures approx. 5 inches (12.5cm) long by 1.25 inch (3.2cm) wide at its widest point and weighs 20 grams. A very unusual and interesting item.
