LARGE ENGLISH STERLING SILVER TURNER & KNOX CRESTED MUSTARD POT 1887 ANTIQUE
A rare very large English Victorian antique solid sterling silver mustard pot. It is hallmarked for London 1887 with the maker being William Hutton & Sons (Edward Hutton). It has superbly designed having a blue glass liner and the lid being engraved with a double crest for the Turner and Knox families (usually associated with the coming together of families at say a wedding - know a Turner and Knox that married in 1887?). It is in superb condition being free from chips cracks dings and splits, there has been an old repair to the hinge at some point but its difficult to see - see final photo. It measures approx. 4.25 inches (10.8cm) across by 2.25 inches (15.6cm) wide by 3 inches (7.6cm) tall and weighs 212g with the liner and 104g excluding it. A very good quality well made piece.
