A beautiful rare Edwardian English antique solid sterling silver match box case and sealing wax holder. It is hallmarked for Chester 1901 with the makers mark being A Barrett. It has been superbly designed being plannished with an ornate handle and an area for holding a stick of sealing wax to its top (these wax sticks are still available on line). It is in superb condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs. It measures approx. 1.75 inches (4.5cms) by 2 inches (5cms) including the handle by 1.5 inches tall and weighs 26 grams. A very unusual example.
