A beautifully rare Norwegian solid silver dish or bowl. It is hallmarked with the Norwegian 830 standard mark along with the makers mark of Ottar Hval from Oslo. The company was established in 1933 by Ottar Hval and his father, Ole Hval. I would ate it to c1950. It has superbly designed with the centre of the dish being enamelled with the image of a Viking ship or boat. It is in superb condition being free from splits, and repairs. The enamel is perfect. It measures approx. 5.5 inches (14cm) across by almost 1 inch (2.4cm) tall and weighs 94 grams. A beautifully made piece.
