A very stylish heavy English solid Britannia silver tumbler cup. It is hallmarked for London 2000 with the maker being William Hawkes & Son. It is been superbly designed having a round base, a copy of an earlier Georgian example designed not to tip on an uneven table top. It has been engraved with an inscription 'Those who are near to me do not know that you are nearer to me than they are. Those who walk with me do not know that I am walking alone with you. Those who speak to me do not know that my heart is filled with your unspoken words' by Rabindranath Tagore.It is in superb condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs. It measures approx. 3.75 inches (9.4cm) across by almost 2.75 inches (6.8cm) tall and weighs 232 grams. A superbly designed piece.
