A beautiful German solid silver box. It is hallmarked with Hanau German marks, the 930 standard mark and a makers mark. It has also been marked with London import marks for 1903. It has been beautifully made with the lid being cast with a portrait of a lady, possibly Marie Antoinette, and the sides have been decorated with scrolls. It is in super condition being free from dings holes and repairs. The inside is clean and gilded and the lid closes tight and flush. It measures approx. 2.75 inches (7cms) across by 2.25 inches (5.7cms) wide by 1 inch (2.4cms) tall and weighs 75 grams. A beautifully made very good quality piece.
