A rare French antique silver plated military napkin ring. It has been interestingly engraved 'Mess S/Officers' seating position '71'. I would date it to c1900-1910. It is in good condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs. It measures approx. 1.5 inches (4cm) tall by 2 inches (5.2cm) across and weighs 50 grams. A very interesting example.
