A beautiful Dutch antique solid silver box. It is hallmarked with the Dutch 833 standard Lion passant mark with the date letter being rubbed but I would date it by its design to c1900. One side depicts gardening the other ploughing. It has been beautifully made and is in super condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs, tiny old micro splits to the edge of the hinge but this has no affect - see photo. The inside is perfectly clean and gilded with the lid closing tightly. It measures approx. 2.25 inches (5.8cm) across by 1.5 inches (3.8cm) wide by over 0.25 inch (1cm) deep and weighs 18 grams. A beautifully made piece.
