A beautiful Hanau (Germany) solid silver tea caddy box. It is hallmarked with two marks to the base and tests as high grade silver. I would date it to c1890-1910. It has been beautifully shaped and finely embossed with romantic scenes. The inside has been vibrantly gilded. It is in super condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs, slight push to the base edge, not visible, see final photo. The inside is clean and the hinge is strong. It measures approx. 3.75 inches (9.5cms) tall by 3.25 inches (8.2cms) across by 2.25 inches (5.8cms) wide and weighs 155 grams. A beautiful piece.
