A super quality solid sterling silver snuff or pill box. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1994 with the maker’s marks being PJD for Peter John Doherty, made for Gallagher's who had links to Aspreys and Garrards. It has a stylish oval design with cast catch and internally gilding. It is in super condition being free from dings splits distortions and repairs. The hinge is smooth and tight. The JJG (J J Gallagher) logo is on the base. It measures over 2 inches (5.2cms) across by 1.25 inches (3.2cms) wide by 1.3cms tall and weighs 38 grams. A very high quality example.
