A rare very high quality German solid sterling silver novelty Mr Punch jug. It is hallmarked with the German crescent moon and crown mark, the 930 standard mark along with the makers mark of Simon Rosenau. It also has import marks for London 1901. It has been superbly made and is in outstanding condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs, a faint push to the top of the handle - see final photo.. It measures approx. 3.25 inches (8.5cm) tall by 2 inches (5.1cm) across handle to nose by 1.75 inches (4.5cm) wide and weighs 68 grams. A rare high quality piece.
