HISTORIC 655g AMERICAN DEPRESSION ERA 1929 STERLING SILVER TRAY DAYTON OHIO
A rare very interesting American sterling silver presentation tray. It is hallmarked sterling along with the makers marks of Wallace. It has been made to presented by the National Cash Register Company Dayton Ohio Oct Nov Dec 1929. Note the Great Depression started Oct 24th 1929 following Black Thursday - this tray marks the end of the Roaring Twenties when cash was clearly free flowing and cash register sales were booming, I doubt anything so lavish was presented the following year. It has been beautifully made have an image of the Cash Register Company to its front. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs. It measures approx. 11.75 inches (30cm) across by 8.75 inches (21.7cms) and weighs 655 grams. A very interesting social museum worthy piece.
