£185.00
Item number: 36212

A superb rare English solid sterling silver carriage key. It is hallmarked for London 1875 with the makers marks being WW. It has been superbly designed having a sterling silver outer case engraved with what looks to be WCO, OCW etc... entwined, with an internal steel door key which folds out. These were carried by railway officials and the gentry to open railway carriage doors. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs, light marks from use, it works perfectly. It measures approx. 3.75 inches (79.5cm) long and weighs 70 grams. A very unusual piece.
