A huge heavy English Victorian antique solid sterling silver serving ladle. It is hallmarked for London 1844 with the maker being Samuel Hayne & Dudley Cater. It has been superbly made to what is termed the Fiddle Thread and Shell pattern, the terminal has been engraved with the single initial B. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs, light bowl scratches from use. It measures approx. 13.25 inches (33.6cm) long by 4 inches (10cm) wide and weighs a very impressive 278 grams. A top quality piece.
